CALGARY POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE
In the interest of public safety, The RCMP and the Calgary Police Service are jointly issuing the following public information and warning regarding the relocation to the Calgary/Okotoks area of an individual who poses a risk of significant harm to the community.
Brenda DeBakker was released from the Edmonton Institution For Women on October 19, 2004, after completing a three year federal term of incarceration for aggravated sexual assault. DeBakker has a history of violence and sexual assault in the Province of Alberta and is of significant risk to re-offend.
DeBakker is described as a 36-year old Caucasian female, 5'9' tall, 150 lbs., with blue eyes and brown hair.
DeBakker will be temporarily residing in the Okotoks area with plans on moving to Calgary within a Short period of time. She will be bound by a Recognizance pursuant to Section 810.2 of the Criminal Code of Canada for a period of 12 months. DeBakker must abide by several conditions that address community concerns during this time, specifically she shall:
-refrain absolutely from the consumption, possession and purchase of all intoxicants and non-prescription drugs.
-not attend any licensed premises where the service or sale of alcohol is the primary service provided (but not including restaurants where food consumption is the primary service of the establishment)
- not attend any areas known to be connected to the Sex Trade Industry.
- not own, possess, carry on your person or have in your place of residence any firearm, cross-bow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapons prohibited device, ammunition, prohibited ammunition or explosive substance, or all such things including any knives
